EXCITING NEW FRENCH RED
We're always excited to try new wines that have been imported by Steve Bennett MW at Mucho Gusto and the Moreau and Fils wines were an immediate winner in our books. Moreau and Fils have been producing wine since 1814 and have become a prestigious and iconic house in that time. Their Les Coches range focuses on the careful selection, ageing and blending of fruit to create elegant wines.
From the Pays D'Oc region in Southern France, this 2020 pinot noir is bright and vibrant with plenty of lively fruit flavours. Soft tannins and the subtle use of oak add complexity and the finish is long and lingering.
The winery writes "Garnet in colour. Aromas of cherries and coffee beans with notes of subtly integrated oak. Attractive, silky tannins. Delectable on the palate, with fruity flavours, toast and lovely power with chocolate and jammy notes. Long finish with a wide range of fruit flavours."
Bob Campbell MW writes "From the Languedoc in southern France. It has a ripe, plush aroma that suggests flowers and ripe plum with a background of smoky oak. A gutsy and slightly rustic red."
