A showstopper Pinot from the Mondillo team. Fruit was hand harvested, 100% de-stemmed and aged for 11 months in French Oak to give this concentrated, full-bodied Pinot packed with dark cherry and berry fruit flavours.
Michael Cooper writes "Already delicious, the 2018 vintage was estate-grown and hand-harvested at Bendigo, and matured in French oak barrels. Full, bright ruby, it is ripely scented and mouthfilling, with concentrated cherry, plum and spice flavours, seasoned with nutty oak, excellent complexity and a supple, very harmonious finish. Drink now or cellar."
Cameron Douglas writes "Youthful, varietal and precise bouquet with ripe aromas of dark cherry, black currant and plum with an unmistakable scent of Bendigo suggesting dried herbs, violet and rugged outcrops. The aromas of barrel spice and smoky wood add complexity and depth. Equally youthful on the palate this wine has a core of fruit with a savoury spicy edge, firm youthful tannins and acidity, but also charm and elegance with lots of potential to age and integrate over the next few years. This is a lovely wine with concentration and length, plenty of wood and persistent finish."
Sam Kim writes "Wonderfully ripe and fragrant, showing sweet plum, dark cherry, vanilla, mushroom and toasted nut aromas on the nose, leading to a beautifully rounded palate offering ripe fruit intensity backed by spicy nuances. It's silky and lingering with loads of delectable flavours."
