96 POINTS | Cameron Douglas MS
A glorious example of tightly structured, reserve level Chenin Blanc from one of the gems of the New Zealand biodynamic scene. Millton's Clos de St Anne series have a rightful position at the very pinnacle of Gisborne wine production and this limited release is a bespoke wine that has clearly been made for the cellar. It's a linear, tight expression in its youth with floral / honey notes overlaying a fresh citrus palate. Over time this will blossom into something very special.
Vegetarian and vegan friendly.
Cameron Douglas writes "Perfumed with gentle fragrances of white blossoms and apple, honeysuckle and quietly spoken Asian spice. Complex and beguiling. On the palate - a wonderful and engaging acid line showcasing the floral and spice moments suggested on the nose, flavours of apples and white fruits, white soil mineral moments and a persistent coarse silk textured finish."
The winery writes "Aromas of honey, pears and bee’s wax. A hint of warm wool and starched linen. Clipped stone minerality. The savoury acidity holds true all the way through and the austere dry textured tannins are refreshing, while a quince-like fruit flavour gives lift and great length to the overall taste."
