Mastroberardino is one of the leading wineries and wine families in all of Italy, in terms of production, market impact, and innovation. The family’s storied history dates back to the early 18th century. As one of Italy’s top winemaking estates, it holds a proud place in Italy’s vinicultural history as a guardian and protector of indigenous grapes of Southern Italy’s Campania region.
This 2019 release is a 100% Aglianico red wine from the foothills of Mount Vesuvius in Campania. It's vibrant and alive in the mouth with a smooth mélange of dark / black fruits. Pairs well with a variety of medium bodied cuisine, fresh tomato sauce-based dishes and roasted chicken.
Natalie Maclean writes about the 2018 vintage "A 100% Aglianico vibrant red wine from the foothills of Mount Vesuvius in Campania. Earthy and rich with ripe blackberry, black cherry, plum flavours finishing smoky on the palate and with great acidity for food. Pour with roast duck."
