FIVE STARS 94/100 | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit "a concentrated palate that's richly textured and persistent"
If ever there was a Barossa Shiraz that defined the term 'Over Achiever' this has to be it. The supercool squat bottles give you a clear signal that there is something special going on here and this opulent Aussie red ticks every other box. It's complex and classy enough to enhance a fine dining table - and gluggable enough to enjoy whenever the mood takes you. It really is the ducks nuts. If robust Aussie reds make you a happy camper, you'll never find a safer bet.
The winery writes "The Barossa Valley is typified in the aromas of this wine: plum, red licorice, chocolate and mocha characters whilst the addition of spicier more elegant fruit of the cooler Eden Valley adds lift, interest and freshness. This is a contemporary Barossa Shiraz having spent maturation time in older oak adding subtle vanilla and earthy nuance. There’s softness on the finish while maintaining freshness and vibrancy. Pair with a porterhouse steak with peppercorn sauce."
Sam Kim writes "Sweetly fruited and perfumed, the gorgeously expressed bouquet shows black/blueberry, spiced cherry, dark chocolate and roasted nut aromas, leading to a concentrated palate that's richly textured and persistent. The wine offers terrific fruit power backed by rounded tannins, finishing long and satisfying."
Classic Barossa Valley Shiraz
Excellent wine. Have just brought my 4th case.
