We've built up a huge following for Lavau Cotes du Rhone and this lovely release follows its purple labelled big brother as a classic grenache dominant release with syrah filling out the remainder of the blend. Fulsome and rounded in the mouth by CdR standards, this wine shows lovely palate weight and concentrated spicy dark red fruits. Mocha complexity brings in an extra luxe element. Wonderful buying here from this much trusted brand.
Formerly from St Emilion, the Lavau Family has been involved in winemaking for several generations, from Bordeaux to the hills of Tunisia. They now focus on wines of the Rhone Valley and have quite the reputation for well priced, generously framed CdR.

Tasting Notes
The nose is fresh and with aroma of strawberry, raspberry, black cherry and a little peppery spice. The medium-bodied wine is very easy to drink with plenty of tasty fruit balanced by more peppery spice.
