A generously framed, silky smooth expression of modern Cotes du Rhone.
This is a lovely expression of medium to full-bodied, modern Cotes du Rhone - a supple and really juicy style with soft, fulsome mouthfeel and gentle tannins. Die hard CdR fans will instantly be enamoured with this wine and it's the perfect option for anyone looking to start their journey into French reds.
The 2018 blend is Grenache dominant (60%) with Syrah (40%) filling out the mid palate and adding some structure on the finish. Perfect with roasted meats or cheese but also eminently drinkable on its own, this lovely wine has been a massive (and we mean MASSIVE(!) - Ed) hit with our early adopters. Buy more than you need.
Formerly from St Emilion, the Lavau Family has been involved in winemaking for several generations, from Bordeaux to the hills of Tunisia. They now focus on wines of the Rhone Valley and have quite the reputation for well priced, generously framed CdR.
The nose is fresh and with aroma of strawberry, raspberry, black cherry and a little peppery spice. The medium-bodied wine is very easy to drink with plenty of tasty fruit balanced by more peppery spice.
Sam Kim, Wine Orbit writes "It is delightfully fruited and inviting on the nose showing Black Doris plum, blueberry, floral, hazelnut and subtle spice characters, leading to a succulent palate that is plump and smooth. The wine is up front and tasty with plenty of juicy fruit flavours."
I came into store looking for Perrin and this was recommended. Great advice. Absolutely delicious wine! Wish I could give it more 5 stars!
Juicy and fruity with a hint of spice. Perfect blend on these colder nights.
