FIVE STARS 95/100 | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit.
FIVE STARS 18.5/20 | Raymond Chan.
Quality Martinborough Pinot Noir from this proven producer. Julicher has an enviable track record both with the critics and in the wine show rounds, and this lovely 2015 release is already stacking up the gongs. It's quite a big style with dark fruits and some lovely herbal complexities. Excellent wine from the famed Te Muna sub-region.
Raymond Chan writes: "Full, even, dark ruby-red colour, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is gently full and voluminous with harmoniously entwined aromas of dark-red berry fruits along with an amalgam of dark-red florals, fragrant herbs and subtle earthy notes. This is refined in expression and has good intensity. Medium-full bodied, the palate is elegant with bright and lively, finely concentrated flavours of dark-red berry fruit along with subtle notes of dark herbs and dark-red florals. The mouthfeel is luscious and vibrant with the sweet fruit supported by fine-grained tannin extraction lending a smooth-flowing line. Fresh, lacy acidity lends vitality and the wine carries to a bright, juicy finish."
