Raymond Chan writes " Medium-full bodied, this has a dense, deep core of strong, black fruits, violet perfumes and oak spices infused with herb and whole bunch-like stalk elements. Grainy but supple tannins underline the fruit and contribute to the ruggedness and youthful flavours and mouthfeel. The wine has a sustained finish with pepper and spice nuances that bloom. This is a fulsome Syrah with black fruit, pepper and spice notes along with youthfully raw stalk notes. The wine will benefit with some time to mellow. Match with roasted or grilled herb-encrusted red meat dishes over the next 5-6+ years".
