Description

FOUR STARS 18+/20 Raymond Chan | Wine Reviews writes "Full, even, dark ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues, lighter on rim. The nose is full and well-packed with ripe fruit aromas of dark raspberries and black cherries along with a subtle layering of plums and dark herbs. Nuances of spice, nutty oak and violet florals unfold in the glass. Medium-full bodied, bold and up-front fruit flavours of ripe raspberries, plums and cherries fill the mouth. Spicy oak notes and florals add to the interest. The fruit is rich and near plush, with grainy tannin structure balancing the fleshiness, and the wine flows Page 2 of 2 Updated 26 May 16 with plenty of drive carrying through to a long, rich-fruited, textural finish. This is a full, bold and rich, raspberry and plum fruited Pinot Noir with plenty of mouthfeel and structure. Match with lamb, beef and venison over the next 5+ years. Hand-picked fruit from the Awatere and Valley, fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 12 months in French oak."

Haha (meaning Savoury and Luscious in Maori) is an exciting brand aiming to produce quality wines that deliver full flavoured, generous drinking at good value price points. The wines have been selected with the help of Cuisine and Air NZ Wine Awards Judge John Belsham. Who should know a thing or two.
