IMPORTER CLEARANCE | PERFECTLY AGED BIN END SPANISH SUPERDEAL.
BUY of the WEEK | Bob Campbell MW - October 2019
91/100 | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit "Wonderfully matured and beautifully complex"
We love a good Tempranillo deal and can guarantee that this is a total winner. Vinted from old vine Tempranillo, this is smooth, rounded Spanish red full of depth and old vine complexity. Aged for 5 years at the estate prior to release, Grandeza Gran Tradicion is in peak form and will stay there for the next 2 or 3 years. Expect plenty of aromatic red fruits with subtle sweet spice and vanilla notes balanced with seamless tannins. This 2012 vintage is smooth, silky and the juicy berry flavours are complimented by perfectly timed bottle aged complexity. We know you'll love it.

Sam Kim writes "Wonderfully matured and beautifully complex, the wine shows spiced plum, dried cherry, game, tapenade, dark mushroom and toasted almond characters. The palate is silky and rounded, delivering sweet berry flavours together with rich savoury notes, elegantly framed by polished tannins."
Bob Campbell writes "Bottle-aged red made from old vines and held in barrel and bottle for five years before release. Made from undisclosed varieties (or variety) but I'd guess that garnacha plays a dominant part. A fine-boned red with violet, red berry and chalky-mineral characters supported by very fine, chalky tannins."
