Giesen really can do no wrong and Vineyard Selection is another rock solid range from their extensive portfolio. It takes things up a notch from their Estate range, and celebrates the diverse climates and soil types that contribute to individual fruit characteristics.
This Hawke's Bay Chardy is an absolute classic. It's creamy and toasty with generous palate weight and ripe stonefruit flavours. The natural acidity keeps the fruit sweetness in check and a touch of oak has added texture and interest on the palate. An excellent sub $15 option.
The winery writes "Fresh nectarine, grapefruit and white floral aromas. Creamy mouthfeel, grapefruit with a touch of oak influence adding texture and length, all leading into a sweet fruit finish."
