The Fenocchio family has been making wines in the heart of Barolo since 1864. Giacomo Fenocchio Barolo comes from twenty-year-old vines planted in the Monteforte d'Alba region. The vines lie on sloping hills and are planted in clay-calcareous soils. They are cultivated using environmentally friendly agriculture and the harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness.
In the winery, traditional winemaking techniques are used to make Giacomo Fenocchio Barolo. Firstly, it ferments in stainless steel tanks for up to 40 days and then ages for 6 months in stainless steel and a further 30 months in large Slavonian oak barrels. Finally, it is left to refine in the bottle. The Giacomo Fenocchio Barolo wine is sensual with a vibrant floral aroma. A great Barolo with innate power.
The winery writes "Deep ruby red in colour with lively, bright highlights this red wine has an intense, ethereal bouquet, with flavours of liquorice and wild rose alongside warm and spicy aromas."
