FIVE STARS 93/100 | Steve Bennett MW, NZ Wine Rater
As part of a label re-vamp, Framingham Wines in Marlborough introduced the ‘Nobody’s Hero’ range to reflect the company’s involvement with music, as expressed by the annual Framingham Harvest Concert. The label was introduced as a "salute to the rebels, the radical, the offbeat and the underground”, whose music and culture features in the concert.
Crisp and dry, this is a tightly bound, cool-spectrum Sauvignon Blanc with passionfruit, cut-grass and herb flavours on a brisk, mouthwatering, firm line. A classic Framingham Sauvvy. Rock on!
Framingham is donating 10c from every bottle sold in New Zealand to New Zealand MusicHelps, a charity that uses the power of music to change the lives of people experiencing hardship and illness. Initiatives include financial assistance, healthcare programs and music-based community projects.
Steve Bennett MW, NZ Wine Rater writes "Gorgeously pungent, lifted, youthful bouquet in a classic Marlborough style with aromas of passionfruit flower, gooseberry, nettles, Thai basil and lemongrass. Clean, crisp, lighter style, with zingy freshness and a soft, appealing texture. A 'complete' wine that offers delicious drinking from go-to-whoa."
The winery writes "Bright aromatics with hints of feijoa, kiwi fruit and ripe, citrus tones. Distinctive yellow capsicum on the palate backs up an array of tropical fruit. The wine is dry, with a mouth-watering line of fine acid and flavoursome length."
