Elephant Hill's Stone Syrah sits in their 'Earth, Sea and Stone' range which highlights exceptional parcels of fruit from their three sub-region vineyards within Hawke's Bay. From their Gimblett Gravels site, Stone syrah is rich and concentrated with dark berry notes and peppery spice. A very special wine that will cellar for 10 years or more.
Bob Campbell MW writes "Rich, concentrated and almost chewy red with ripe plum, cacao, mocha, cassis, leather and spicy French oak flavours. Accessible wine with a nice balance between fruit sweetness and pleasantly drying tannins."
The winery writes "Intense and concentrated ripeness, it has a tight knit structure and a sense of place that will last long into future. This wine is rich and dense with dary berried fruits, black pepper, spice and nutty oak aromas."
