Super-premium Hawkes Bay Chardonnay lovingly vinted by leading Hawkes Bay winemaker Steve Skinner. This first Salome Chardonnay release will delight and impress. Highly recommended.
Michael Cooper writes "The very classy 2016 vintage (*****) was estateâ€grown at Te Awanga (83 per cent) and in the Bridge Pa Triangle (17 per cent), and fermented and matured for a year in French oak barrels (34 per cent new). A beautiful, notably refined young wine, it is highly fragrant, with gentle, mealy, biscuity aromas adding complexity. Fullâ€bodied, with ripe stonefruit flavours, showing lovely delicacy and concentration, finely balanced acidity and a long, seamless finish, it's already delicious but likely to be longâ€lived; open 2020."
