A perfect score from Raymond Chan cements Elephant Hill as a powerhouse producer. The icons are only released in exceptional vintages and this is EXCEPTIONAL.
The name Hieronymus is derived from an ancestor of Elephant Hill’s proprietor Roger Weiss. Hieronymus was the Lord Mayor Nuremberg in Germany during the 16th century. Pretty neat.
Sam Kim, Wine Orbit writes "This gloriously composed Bordeauxâ€style red displays blackberry, crème de cassis, cedar, violet and game characters on the nose with a touch of cigar complexity. The palate is powerful and richly fruited, while remaining firmly structured and brilliantly balanced. A stunning red delivering mouth filling texture and delectable flavours, backed by loads of fine, chalky tannins. A blend of 46% merlot, 44% malbec and 10%cabernet sauvignon."
