An elegant Chateauneuf du Pape expression from this classy producer. Grenache dominant, with syrah and mourvedre in supporting roles, this is medium bodied with bright red berry notes and delicate spicy notes. Highly recommended.
Jamie Goode writes "This is brilliant. It’s a blend of 60% Grenache, 35% Syrah and 5% Mourvèdre, and it’s supremely elegant. Quite light-bodied, yet full flavoured, it has refined cherry and plum fruit with a delicate peppery spiciness and a really silky texture. There’s warmth and depth, but also freshness and finesse. This really delivers purity and elegance. There are notes of sour cherry, liqourice and dried herbs, too. Such a beautiful, seamless, complete wine."
Josh Raynolds, Vinous writes "Brilliant ruby. Highly perfumed red berry and floral scents are complemented by suggestions of pungent herbs and smoky minerals. Sweet and penetrating on the palate, offering juicy raspberry, cherry and floral pastille flavors that deepen with air. In a seamless, energetic style, conveying a smooth blend of richness and finesse and finishing gently sweet and long, with even tannins and building spiciness."
The winery writes "Attractive red cherry colour with light purple tints, displays nice kirsch and squashed plum aromas. Rounded chunky mouth-feel, weighty with strawberry jam, raspberry and cooked cherry fruit, lovely ripeness."
