Michael Cooper writes "This classy, finely structured red is estate-grown on the south side of the Wairau Valley and matured for 18 months in French oak barriques (40 per cent new in 2014). The delicious 2014 vintage (5*) has deep, youthful colour. The bouquet is fragrant, plummy and spicy; the palate is mouthfilling, with well-ripened plum/spice flavours, showing excellent complexity and richness, in a very savoury style with gentle acidity and impressive harmony. Best drinking 2018+."
