Setting up shop in the heart of Wellington's CBD, using a state of the art custom-built copper still and utilising Wellington's plentiful rain water, Denzien have quickly proved themselves to be one of the finest gin distillers in the country.
They wanted to create a gin that had whisky qualities to it - those smoky, warming characters that you get in a good single malt - and Smoke & Embers was born. They used a number of interesting botanicals such as chipotle, morita, habanero chillies and coriander to create the spicy, warm effects. Excellent as a fireside sipper and wicked in a Negroni.
