BIN END QUAFFER MEGADEAL
4.5 STARS 91/100| Sam Kim, Wine Orbit "The wine offers lovely fruit purity and vibrancy, finishing long and mouth-watering."
A monster Sauv Blanc deal from this exciting new producer. Decibel have cut a track through the upmarket restaurants and hip cafes of New Zealand with their delicious portfolio of funkily packaged wines. Owner Dan Brennan has asked us to clear stocks of his current release Sauvignon to introduce a new vintage and when Dan does a clearance there is obviously no mucking around. Don't be wary of the $8.99 price.
This is quality wine in perfect condition; a fresh and zesty Hawkes Bay Sauvignon Blanc with layers of tangy tropical fruits and soft, dialled down acidity. It finishes perfectly clean. Extra palate weight means this wine will appeal not only to Sauv Blanc fans but to anyone who loves crisp, dry whites - and the 2017 will remain as fresh as the day it was bottled for at least a couple more years. Stock is limited.
We're 100% confident that everyone who buys this wine will wish they were braver and grabbed an extra case.
The winery writes "Rich and intense passionfruit with hints of elderflower and gooseberry, citrus and honeysuckle. Some autolysis characteristics remain with richness on the back-nose giving more headier notes. The front palate is lively with crisp peach notes, a soft mid-palate of honey dew and fresh stone fruit racing towards the finish with a lingering, chalky textural note on the cheeks giving a zesty finish."
Sam Kim writes "Fresh and lively, this appealing sauvignon shows feijoa, green rockmelon, lemon peel and sweet basil aromas on the nose, leading to a juicy palate that is intensely flavoured and lingering. The wine offers lovely fruit purity and vibrancy, finishing long and mouth-watering."
Such a great buy at $8.99 a bottle. Have brought another case.
Hate to say it but your right - wished I’d grabbed more!
