FIVE STARS 19+/20 | Raymond Chan.
The 2014 Prestige reds follow the 2013's as that most anticipated Craggy Range releases to date. Having tasted these wines with winemaker Matt Stafford we can assure you that they take on the task of following the much hyped 2013 reds in their stride. We share Matt's view that the 2014's are perhaps a better representation of the heights Craggy Range is capable of and there is no question that these are great Hawkes Bay wines.
Aroha is our favourite of Craggy's 2014 flagship - a wonderfully complex wine with layer after layer of savoury fruits. In our view it it the best Aroha produced by date. Bravo.
Raymond Chan writes " Dark ruby-red colour with moderate depth, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is refined in expression with firmly concentrated aromas of dark red berry fruits and black cherries harmoniously melded of soft, complexing layers of dried herbs and whole cluster stalk perfumes. This is a soft, plush, seamless and sweetly rich Pinot Noir with dark red berry and plum fruit with whole bunch complexities."
