SERIOUS SPANISH RED AT AN AFFORDABLE PRICE POINT
FIVE STARS 18.5/20 | Raymond Chan
FIVE STARS 93/100 | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
We fell big time for this boldly weighted, striking of blend of Grenache (85%) and Syrah. Mouth filling and savoury, it is perfectly pitched with Syrah (10%) having the structure and power to subdue the natural exuberance of the Grenache component. The result is harmonious and balanced and the flavours of dark fruits, cedar, coffee and spice live on in the mouth and this wine is showing superbly with perfect bottle age. This is serious, dinner party worthy wine at an affordable price. It comes very highly recommended.
The winery writes "Smooth, wide and fleshy on the palate. Full, harmonious and balanced. Aftertaste remains for a long time where as fruity and spicy notes as well as memories of cacao and coffee reappear."
A blend of Garnacha (86%), Syrah (10%) and Mazuela (4%).
Raymond Chan writes "Medium-full bodied, the palate possesses a well-concentrated core of sweetly ripe blackberry and raspberry fruit entwined with spices and oak cedar and vanilla. The mouthfeel is juicy and lusciously vibrant, and balanced by fine-grained tannin grip and structure, with lacy acidity providing lively drive."
