4.5 STARS 91/100 | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
Produced by the highly acclaimed LGI wines, awarded Best French Still Wine Producer at Berliner Wein Trophy in 2017, 2018 and 2019, this is a generously framed and quite fulsome pinot noir in the modern Pays d'Oc style. As expected flavours in the dark red cherry spectrum flood the palate and are supported by some mocha notes and subtle wood spice. This is a fleshy, immediately attractive wine that is so easy to enjoy - and another great value Euro-red brought into New Zealand by gifted importer Steve Bennett MW. Highly recommended.
Sam Kim writes "Splendidly ripe and perfumed, the inviting bouquet shows dark plum, sweet cherry, clove and toasted almond characters, followed by a supple palate that's rounded and soothing. The wine displays gorgeous ripe fruit flavours backed by silky tannins, offering terrific drinking."
The winery writes "Aromas of black fruits, followed by hints of vanilla and cloves. Fine-grained tannins and velvety texture. Long and vibrantly fresh, with a touch of mocha."
