Elegant, fragrant wine with lifted florals, dark black fruits with a hint of vanilla and spice on the nose. On the palate it is smooth, rich and full with black fruits and inky notes with linear acidity. Rich and powerful, yet elegantly so.
FIVE STARS Michael Cooper | NZ Wines "The very elegant, Bordeaux-like 2013 vintage (5*) was hand-picked in Hawke's Bay at 'ideal sites', matured for 22 months in French oak barrels, and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Full and youthful in colour, it's a notably savoury and supple, full-bodied wine with concentrated, well-ripened blackcurrant, plum and spice flavours, oak complexity, and fine-grained tannins. Already delicious, it should be at its best from 2017 onwards".
