A NEW AMERICAN CHARDONNAY STAR TOUCHES DOWN
FIVE STARS 93/100 | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit "richly expressed and generously textured"
Growth in the American Chardonnay category continues with great pace, so we are always on the lookout for options that set new standards in the key $20 bracket. Clay Creek is one undoubtedly of those wines. It's such an exciting new discovery; a layered and textural chardonnay with rich, creamy palate weight and rich flavours of baked stonefruits, creme brulee with some obvious notes of wood spice complexity. A tangy lick of citrus fruits and a seam of fresh acidity balances the equation but this is opulent, powerhouse chardonnay in the classic American style.
Outstanding value with the Advintage Advantage. A STAR IS BORN.
Sam Kim writes "Offering gorgeous fruit richness with enticing complexity, the wine shows golden peach, baked fig, vanilla and assorted roasted nut aromas on the nose with a hint of butterscotch. It’s richly expressed and generously textured on the palate, delivering soothing mouthfeel backed by refreshing acidity, leading to a lengthy creamy finish."
