Chateau Carbonneau is found in the south-eastern part of Bordeaux but has a NZ connection; owner Wilfrid Franc de Ferrière is married to a kiwi and spent five years here before heading to France and taking over Chateau Carbonneau.
This is classic merlot-dominant Bordeaux. It's soft, juicy and well-balanced with ripe red fruit flavours on the palate. Open a bottle of this next time you're putting on a roast. It'll be a match made in heaven.
Vinted from 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon & 5% Malbec.
A beautiful cherry red colour. The nose is dominated by red berry fruit with hints of cocoa and candied fruit. A well balanced palate with a sweet attack, leading to a soft and round finish full of ripe, fresh fruit.
