The Chapoutier family have produced wines in the Rhone Valley since 1808 and no one will argue that under the stewardship of Michel Chapoutier the wines have blossomed. This beautiful Cotes du Roussillon ( Syrah, Grenache and Carignan) has the upfront juiciness of Grenache balanced with the Syrah component's more serious side. What a steal. Very highly recommended.
Jeff Dunnuck writes "The 2018 Côtes Du Roussillon Villages Les Vignes De Bila Haut showed nicely, with both freshness and richness, Clean blackberry, currants, violets, and a kiss of minerality all emerge from the glass, and it's medium-bodied, with beautiful depth of fruit and a great finish."
The winery writes "This wine is fleshy, well-structured with the warm and savage of soils of the Roussillon area. To drink within 2 years."
