FIVE STARS 93/100 | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
90 POINTS | Bob Campbell MW
Crisp and dry Hawkes Bay Rose vinted by a producer with a reputation for putting plenty of flavour in the bottle. This 2020 Rose is merlot dominant (86%) with a splash of syrah (14%). It's a lovely fresh style with flavours in the semi-ripe strawberry spectrum. It finishes tangy and dry.
The winery writes "Our 2019 Rose is made up of 90% Merlot and 10% Syrah. Florals, rose petals and potpourri abound on the nose whilst the palate is soft, fresh and brimming with dried strawberries. A delectable dry finish makes this a winner all year long."
Sam Kim writes "Delicate and fabulously styled, the inviting bouquet shows crunchy apple, nectarine, watermelon and lemon peel aromas, followed by a light and juicy palate offering pristine fruit flavours together with zesty acidity, making it instantly appealing."
Bob Campbell writes "A blend of 86% merlot and 14% syrah from the Track vineyard in Gimblett Gravels. Pale-pink colour. A crisp, dry rosé with green apple, lime zest, raspberries and watermelon flavours supported by mouth-watering acidity."
