BOTTLE AGED GIMBLETT GRAVELS MEGADEAL
This will go down as one of the great Hawkes Bay red deals of 2020.
Beach House winemaker Chris Harrison always seems to pack something extra in his wines and this 2016 Reserve Merlot is a prime example of the upfront Beach House style. This is generously proportioned Gimblett Gravels Merlot that is now coming into its ideal drinking window after 3 years in the bottle. It's completely dinner party worthy and in brilliant form; savoury, fulsome and very satisfying. Bottle-aged red of this calibre from the famed Gimblett Gravels appellation deserves to be $40+ so it is a pleasure for us to offer you this wine under the $15 barrier on a case or mixed case buy.
Another absolute bargain with the Advintage advantage | Buy every case you can and then cut everyone you know in on the action.
The winery writes "2016 Reserve Merlot is a barrel selection of our finest Merlot and has some new oak in the blend. It has intense aromatics of black doris plum, fruits of the forest with hints of chocolate and cigar box. Fruit cake and dark chocolate flavours fill out the mouth while solid tannins from both the fruit and the oak provide a rich and bold structure to the wine. Would go great with a big fat juicy rare steak! A fine example of Gimblett Gravels Merlot from Hawke’s Bay".
