4.5 STARS 92/100 | Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
90 POINTS | Winefront
Bare Winemakers comes under the Fourth Wave Wines umbrella and they work with artisanal growers and winemakers to create wines with a 'less is more' mentality' - using minimal intervention techniques to showcase the exceptional South Australian fruit. This 2020 McLaren Vale Shiraz is concentrated and robust with warm berry notes and fine tannins. Drinking beautifully now and great value at under $20 on case buys.
Sam Kim writes "Offering wonderful fruit purity as well as spicy complexity, the wine shows black/blueberry, warm spice, tar and cedar characters on the nose, followed by a beautifully weighted palate that's succulent and persistent. It's attractively flavoursome and satisfying with fruit power backed by fine-grained tannins."
The winery writes "Deeply coloured, vibrant youthful plum, cherry and blackberry aromas. The palate is richly concentrated, full and robust in style, primary but balanced. Styled to be a richly flavoured wine with the ability to age well. Perfect with red meat dishes such as roast lamb or an eye fillet."
