Gorgeous Rosé from one of Martinborough's most loved producers!
94/100 | Bob Campbell, MW
Blended from a combo of Martinborough and Hawkes Bay fruit - and with Cabernet Sauvignon at its core(!) - this 2019 release is crisp and dry but clever winemaking has added juicy mid palate weight and some savoury crunch. It's such a refreshing wine style and one that always sells through before the end of summer. Get your share while you can.
The winery writes "Sourced 64% from the winemakers Martinborough vineyards and 36% from the Craggy Range vineyard in Gimblett Gravels, Hawkes Bay. A range of fruit has been used this year: 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 16% Pinot Noir, 16% Syrah and 4% Cabernet Franc all combining to make a savoury, complex style. Barrel fermentation, time on lees and indigenous yeasts are all factors that add to the texture and breadth of flavours in this wine".
