This plush, luxuriously styled wine was made by the legendary Nick Nobilo in his Vinoptima winery - the home of New Zealand's most celebrated and expensive aromatic wine.

Vinted in the traditional medium-dry Alsace style, the 2011 has been designed for extended bottle age and consequently was held back for release by the winery. This exceptional wine is showing beautifully. It is fulsome and delicious with complex pear and citrus fruit flavours and has the ability to further develop over the coming 3-4 years.

This wonderful opportunity gives medium dry Pinot Gris fans the chance to enjoy one of the New Zealand market's very best examples whenever they feel the need.
This will go down as one of the great Pinot Gris deals of 2017. Climb in.

Description

The winery writes "This wine is lemon-gold in colour with a densely packed bouquet of honeyed stone fruits, expressed with purity and lifted floral notes. It is medium-dry to taste - a fulsome, up front and pure-fruited Pinot Gris with harmony and power. The sustained finish of ripe, yellow stone fruits and honeysuckle, makes this wine a perfect match for spicy Asian cuisine and rich seafood."

Sam Kim Writes "FIVE STARS The wine shows wonderful ripeness together with textured mouthfeel, making it a great wine to sip and to partner flavoursome dishes. The nose shows ripe peach, pear, floral and subtle spice notes, leading to a fabulous palate that's plush and succulent. It's smooth, comforting and very long on the finish."
