GOLD MEDAL 96/100 | New World Wine Awards
91 POINTS | James Halliday, Wine Companion
A hefty, bold example of prime McLaren Vale Cabernet from one of the regions most trusted set of hands. This is quite the powerhouse with masses of dark brambly fruits underpinned with Cabernet's trademark leafy characters. Already accessible and showing well this wine will improve over the coming decade if you can keep your hands off it. Brilliant buying for fans of quality Aussie Cab.
Deep blue black with vibrant purple hues. Blackcurrant and mint aromas with a hint of sandalwood. Blackcurrant and soft full tannins fill the mouth, and an aftertaste of mint and French oak underline the moreish finish.
Judges Comments "Gorgeous aromas of chocolate, cedar, mocha coffee, sweet cassis, the palate is balanced with pepper, intense fruit and a touch of graphite. The tannins are chalky, giving great structure and plush mouthfeel, a very long and intense finish. For a summer BBQ, find the perfect outdoor setting and serve this with slightly charred BBQ pork ribs and a green salad."
A new winter favourite
